The Monsanto Fund (www.monsantofund.org) has announced the winners of its Canada’s Farmers Grow Communities program, a program aimed at strengthening rural communities by providing the opportunity for farmers to secure a $2,500 grant for their favourite community charity or not-for-profit organization.

In early March 2012, Monsanto Company released additional details about its new biotech stacked trait in soybeans – a product that combines both glyphosate and dicamba tolerance to provide farmers with more consistent and flexible control of weeds - including tough-to-control and glyphosate-resistant weeds - and maximize yield potential.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has approved Genuity® VT Double PRO™ RIB Complete™ corn, making it the second product in the Genuity® family of corn trait technologies to be approved as a single bag refuge solution for corn. Genuity® VT Double PRO™ RIB Complete™ joins Genuity® SmartStax® RIB Complete™ as refuge in the bag products available to Canadian corn growers for 2012 planting.
